Oracle MSCA implementation
Mobile Supply Chain Applications (MSCA) is Oracle's in-house solution for enabling barcode data collection. MSCA allows users to perform many common warehouse and shop floor transactions through hand-held radio frequency (RF) devices, Portable Data Terminals (PDAs), and lift truck mounted RF scanners. Transactions can be performed with these wireless devices at the point of use, thus offering real time transaction processing, improved data accuracy and increased mobility and convenience.
MSCA delivers the capability to perform many of the Applications desktop transactions in Manufacturing, Receiving, Inventory, Quality and Shipping; it replaces paper accounting with the use of barcodes and mobile RF devices. However, MSCA does not add any new business functionality or utility. In order to accommodate realities on the shop floor, it is often necessary to customize standard MSCA functionality to provide users access to increased information and improved workflows.
